Define the purchase decision
Manufactured-sand washing returns freshly generated mineral fines to a recirculating water system. A purchase decision should follow the washing and sludge-handling duty, not only a rapid settling result from a convenient clean-water sample.
Keep the proposed product identity connected to the tested suspension and the intended separator.
Describe the production campaign
Record rock source, crusher or screening changes, wash-water flow, fines and any clay contamination. Keep candidate tests tied to the material actually being processed. Particle distribution can change even when the headline tonnes-per-hour figure remains similar.
The aggregate wash-water record provides the circuit baseline.
Link grade to contact conditions
Compare adjacent molecular and anionic profiles using actual recycle water. Record injection, dilution and pumps between conditioning and settling. High local stock concentration can treat only a fraction of the flow and imitate a grade mismatch.
Use the contact and dilution method when a feedwell is part of the installation.
Retain useful production outputs
Track clarified-water fines, makeup requirement, underflow concentration and withdrawal stability. Include downstream dewatering if it limits throughput. A compact bed is useful only if the plant can discharge and handle it at the required rate.
Do not count production improvements caused by a changed crusher feed or reduced loading as a benefit of the new polymer.
Check a misleading apparent improvement
If washing throughput improves after both rock source and polymer change, use a controlled comparison before assigning the gain to the powder. Retain the feed campaign and recycle record with each result. Otherwise procurement risks paying for an apparent benefit created by a less difficult production feed.
Retain the comparison conditions and any unresolved acceptance requirement with the proposed purchase.
Set the release boundary
Keep the approved rock-feed and recycle-water envelope with the order. A major source or wash configuration change should prompt confirmation before the same consumption forecast is extended.
| Purchase requirement | Required evidence | Release condition |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | Rock and fines history | Test represents current production |
| Contact | Dilution and injection check | Candidate reaches the suspended solids |
| Value | Water quality and solids withdrawal | Purchase supports the complete circuit |
